Episode 105 - Making Messes
Segment #4 - Concoctions
Activity - Fake Spills HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Empty food and product containers, mug, plastic cup
- All purpose white household glue
- Food coloring
- Acrylic paint
- Plastic or paper cups
- Plastic wrap
- Cookie sheet
LET'S GET STARTED:
Choose an empty container, cup or jar as a prop for your spill. For example, an empty juice box, hot chocolate mug or chocolate syrup jar works well. Stir food coloring (for translucent spills) or acrylic paint from squeeze bottles or tubes (for opaque spills) into 1/2 cup of white household glue. When adding the color to the glue, try and imitate the color of the product that was in the container. You might need to mix some colors to get an authentic effect.
Place plastic wrap on a cookie sheet. Set the container you have chosen on its side on the plastic wrap. Carefully pour the colored glue mixture onto the plastic wrap next to the spout or edge of container. Try to pour it in a way to simulate a spill. Keep out of reach until completely dry and hard and remove the plastic wrap. Check to make sure that the "spill" is dry underneath. Place your fake spill in the perfect place to fool your friends and family. OTHER ACTIVITIES FROM THIS EPISODE:
