- Plaster of Paris
- Water
- Container for mixing
- Disposable latex gloves
- Clear plastic deli trays, at least one-inch deep
- Wire clothes hanger
- Low-temperature glue gun
- Acrylic paints and paint pens (optional)

- Place your child's favorite piece of artwork under the plastic deli tray. Trace over the basic design with the glue gun on the inside base of the tray. Remove artwork and let glue dry.
- Mix the water and plaster according to the directions on the package.
- Pour the plaster mixture into the deli tray.
- Meanwhile as plaster hardens, create a hanger for the plaque. Cut a 4-inch length of wire from your clothes hanger, turning down each end ½- inch from the edge.
- When plaster is the consistency of a thick milkshake, insert wire ends into plaster about 1-inch from the top of your plaster form and hold until the plaster sets.
- When completely hard and dry, remove the plaster from the tray to reveal the outline of the artwork.
- Paint with acrylic paints. Let dry.
- Add details with paint pens, if you wish.
