Segment #4 - Candle Holders
Activity - Aluminum Candle Holders

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Clean, disposable aluminum roasting pan
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Pushpin or hammer and nail
• Disposable aluminum soufflé cup (available at supermarkets)
• Sand
• Votive candle

LET'S GET STARTED:

1. Use a pencil to trace or draw 2-inch x 3-inch shapes on the clean, disposable aluminum pan.
2. Cut shapes out with scissors. Round any sharp edges.
3. Place shape on an old piece of wood. Use the pushpin or a hammer and nail to make several randomly spaced holes for candlelight to eventually shine through. Smooth out any wrinkles on the aluminum by rubbing the surface with a spoon.
4. Staple overlapping shapes around the aluminum soufflé cup. Fill the cup halfway with sand and place a votive candle in the center.

Note: An adult should always be present for the lighting and burning of candles.
