Recipe - French Roll-Ups

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 2-3 slices dense white or egg bread with crusts removed
  • Margarine or butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Favorite syrup

LET'S GET STARTED:

  1. Whisk together egg and milk in a shallow bowl.
  2. Spread a slice of bread with margarine or butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, then roll up and seal ends by pinching bread slightly.   Roll in egg batter.
  3. Carefully poke roasting stick through roll-up at midsection and hold over coals until all sides are lightly brown, about 11/2 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove from stick and serve with syrup.
