Segment #3 - After the Adventure
Activity - Postcard Box

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Six 4-inch x 6-inch postcards or photographs (4 with horizontal pictures, 2 with vertical pictures)
• Roll of clear adhesive backed paper
• Clear tape
• Scissors
• Pipe cleaner or ribbon
• Bead or button
• Paper punch

LET'S GET STARTED:

1. Cut two pieces of clear adhesive backed paper 20-inches x at least 16-inches.
2. Peel off backing from one piece and lay sticky side up in front of you.
3. Arrange the postcards on the sheet as follows:
   
   Line up the 4 horizontal pictures in a column   with the top postcard placed1/2-inch from the top edge.   The top postcard (#1) must have its picture turned around facing away from you.
   
   The next postcards in order (#2 and #3) should have the pictures facing you. #4 at the bottom of the column should face away from you.
   
   Cut the two vertical postcard pictures to measure 4-inches x 4-inches.   Each of them should be placed picture side up next to the short sides of postcard #3 with the bottom edge of each picture touching the sides of postcard #3.
   
4. Peel back a few inches of the second sheet of clear adhesive backing. Match up the top sticky side edge with the first sheet.   Slowly pull the backing away as you smooth the top piece over the postcards.
5. Trim the sealed sheets with scissors along outside edges of cards leaving 1/4-inch around all edges to keep cards sealed in.
6. Fold the box into shape and reinforce the corners with clear tape.
7. Punch a hole through the lid, about 1/2-inch from the edge.   Loop and knot a 12-inch piece of beaded twine through the hole to make a handle.
8. Fill box with photos, shells, and trinkets from trip.
