Activity - Twig Basket

Go on a little hike around the neighborhood or yard and collect twigs.   An adult should trim the twigs to the same length using a small saw, pruning shears or a ratchet cutter.   (The longer the twigs the bigger the basket.)

Begin the basket by stacking 4 sticks log-cabin style for the base.   Tie each corner with twine or weave a rubber band around the ends to hold together.   Add sticks to create the bottom layer of the basket and attach each end.   Layer the sides using the log cabin style of stacking and attaching as you go.
