Activity - Bird Suet
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Melt together in a saucepan:
- 1 cup lard
- 1 cup chunky peanut butter
Mix the following ingredients together in a bowl:
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup bird seed
LET'S GET STARTED:
An adult should carefully add the melted mixture to the dry ingredients. When cool to the touch, let kids mix and squish away! Press into muffin tins or other containers, with cording to hang tucked underneath the mixture. Cool in the refrigerator for 2 hours until hard.
OR: Spoon the recipe into a potato chip can cut in half lengthwise, (insert some string or cording inside for hanging) and let it harden in the refrigerator. Peel the cardboard off and hang the treat outside! OTHER ACTIVITIES FROM THIS EPISODE:
